Scoil Íosagáin in Buncrana has received some positive news this afternoon regarding their ongoing major school project.

This project is now progressing to Stage 3 Tender Stage, in a move welcomed by Joe McHugh, TD for Donegal and Minister Charlie McConalogue.

Deputy McHugh said: “I am delighted to see good progress today for Scoil Íosagáin.

“A colleague from the Department’s Major Projects Tender & Construction Section, who will be responsible for taking the project through the tendering process, will be in contact to support the school with the next stage of the process.”

“This is really welcome news and means the building work is now one step closer.”

Scoil Íosagáin is one of more than a dozen major capital projects for schools in Donegal.

“I am delighted for Sinéad McLaughlin and her dedicated team. Dea-scéala don scoil agus don cheantar; comhghairdeas mór le Sinéad, an Bord Bainistíochta, agus leis an foireann scoile uilig.”

Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine and Donegal TD, Charlie McConalogue commented “it is much welcomed news that this project for a state of the art school is progressing to the next stage and will be vitally important for the Buncrana and Inishowen community”.

The Minister thanked his colleague Minister Foley, Councillor Rena Donaghey, the local community and all the team at Scoil Íosagáin including the Board of Management, parents and staff for their work in progressing the project.
