Expressions of interest are being accepted for a series of free online yoga and relaxation classes for children with a disability aged ten and over.

The series is being spearheaded by Donegal Sports Partnership in conjunction with Inner Space Health and is most suitable for children with an intellectual disability, an autism spectrum disorder, dyspraxia and motor coordination.
The programme will consist of two 30-minute classes which will be delivered via Zoom on Mondays and Wednesdays between 11.15 am and 11.45 am. Each class will include gentle yoga poses, breathing exercises, sound work and relaxation.
There are many benefits to practising yoga. It enhances self-regulation, improves body awareness, motor-planning, coordination, balance, strength, flexibility and concentration. Yoga also enhances speech, language and listening skills, helps reduce anxiety and promotes relaxation.
Ann Marie from Inner Space Health will facilitate the sessions. Ann Marie is an exercise physiologist and Iyengar Yoga teacher and has experience teaching yoga to children with additional needs.
Expressions of interest can be registered by logging on to: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/dspyoga
