Man even took the kitchen sink during incident

A DONEGAL man stole a kitchen sink from a neighbour’s house.

Joseph Meehan (44) from Manor Court, Convoy, was before Letterkenny District Court on charges relating to an incident on September 28, 2020.

Meehan was charged with criminal damage to an assortment of piping connections underneath a kitchen sink during the process of stealing it.

He was also charged with the theft of the kitchen sink and with criminal damage to electrical wire connections attached to the cooker.

The theft of an electric fuse is also included among the charges faced by Meehan, who was represented by solicitor Mr Donough Cleary.

The items in question belonged to a neighbour, Brian Doherty.

Meehan made no reply when charged by Gardaí.

The sink remains in possession of An Garda Síochána.

Meehan was remanded on continuing bail to appeal before the April 12 sitting of the court.
