Renovations and upgrades are on the way for three enterprise units in the Donegal Gaeltacht.
Funding of €1.74m was approved at Údarás na Gaeltachta’s First Board Meeting of 2021 to upgrade premises in Donegal, Galway and Kerry.
As part of the programme, Regional Offices at Gaoth Dobhair Business Park will undergo renovation and an upgrade for a space for customers, as well as a new customer service space. Lighting will be upgraded to reduce energy costs. Funding will also enable an upgrade for toilets and to provide toilets for people with disability in the reception area.
Another 65– square–metre office in the business park will be upgraded to improve insulation quality and heating, lighting, mechanical and electrical services.
The Bunbeag enterprise unit will undergo a complete replacement of the southern facade, with new external cladding and insulation.
Works are due to begin in the coming months after the easing of lockdown restrictions.
Funding for the renovation programme comes from an €8million allocation made to Údarás na Gaeltachta as part of the Government’s Job Stimulus Programme.
These renovation works are set enhance the business and enterprise space available in the Gaeltacht and provide businesses with an opportunity to locate or establish themselves in the Gaeltacht with Údarás na Gaeltachta’s support.
