A drug driver was arrested outside Ballybofey today after testing positive for cannabis.
Gardaí were conducting a Covid-19 travel checkpoint at Mc Groarys Brae this Saturday morning when the detection was made.
The driver was also found to be in possession of a small amount of cannabis. They will now face an appearance in court.
“Despite the Level 5 travel restrictions that are in place and the multiple warnings in relation to road safety, there are those who still choose to drive while under the influence of drugs,” said a garda spokesperson.
“Do not ever drive while under the influence of drugs or alcohol.”
