Breaking: Donegal records 47 new Covid cases, 12 deaths nationally

ANOTHER 47 positive cases of Covid-19 have been detected in Donegal, health officials have confirmed.

Nationally, 12 more Covid-19 related deaths and 1,024 new cases were announced.

All 12 of the deaths notified to the Health Protection Surveillance Centre occurred within the last week.

The median age of those who died is 76 years and the age range is 60-90 years.

There have now been 3,686 deaths and 203,568 cases since the outbreak.

There were 47 new cases in Donegal announced this evening with 514 cases in the county over the last 14 days.

Of the cases notified today: 490 are men and 533 are women; 65 per cent are under 45 years of age; the median age is 35 years old.

As of 2pm today, 1,204 Covid-19 patients are hospitalised, of which 178 are in ICU. There have been 35 additional hospitalisations in the past 24 hours.
