Coronavirus: Donegal’s incidence rate down, with nine new cases recorded

The Covid-19 incidence rate has reduced further in Donegal, with nine new cases reported this evening.

Nationally, there have been six further Covid-related deaths and 829 new cases of the virus.

Five of the deaths occurred in February, and one occurred in January. The median age of those who died was 84 years and the age range was 75-95 years.

The 14-day Covid-19 incidence rate in Donegal has reduced to 308.4 per 100,000 – down from 475.5 one week previously. There have been 491 cases of Covid-19 detected in Donegal in the past two weeks. The national average incidence rate currently stands at 326.9 per 100,000.

As of 8am today, 1,212 COVID-19 patients are hospitalised, of which 176 are in ICU. There have been 39 additional hospitalisations in the past 24 hours.

Data from Letterkenny University Hospital (at 8pm Sunday) recorded 68 patients with the virus onsite, including five patients with Covid-19 in ICU.
