The Department of Health has been notified of 68 further deaths and an additional 556 cases of Covid-19.
A total of 20 of these cases occurred in Co Donegal.
Today’s new cases bring the total number of confirmed cases here to 204,940.
It was pointed out that of the overall cases reported today, fifty of the deaths occurred in February, 15 occurred in January and two in December.
In total there has been 3,752 Covid-19 related deaths in Ireland.
The number of people with coronavirus in ICU is 182, up six on yesterday.
