Areas of Donegal have been impacted by the loss of internet and electricity this Wednesday morning.
Homes and businesses across the county have encountered issues with Vodafone, eir, Digiweb and other providers. The fixed line broadband outage is reportedly affecting properties north and south of the county.
A statement from Vodafone customer care on Twitter said the problem will be sorted “as soon as possible.”
“We are aware of the issue and our service teams are working on it,” a representative said.
A representative from eir told customers: “We were alerted to a service issue impacting some customers detected between Donegal Town and Killybegs this morning. We have a team of engineers assessing the damage and they will work to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.”
The impact of the outage is widespread, due to the number of customers working from home and engaging in remote learning with schools.
Meanwhile in Milford, more than 60 customers are without electricity due to an unplanned outage. The problem was reported shortly before 8am. ESB crews are working on repairs and expect to have service restored by 11.20am.
