A driver speeding at 140kms in a 100km zone was last night stopped by the Buncrana Roads Policing unit.

A spokesperson said the conditions were icy and cold.

The driver will now receive a fine and will also have penalty points put on their license.

Gardai have appealed to people to slow down especially during the current cold snap.
