A young man has been charged in connection with an online fraud estimated to be in the region of more than €190,000.

Ami Enabulele, with an address at Glendale Manor, Letterkenny, appeared at Letterkenny District Court.

The 26-year-old was charged with a total of 12 offences.

The alleged sums involve range from €6,000 to more than €50,000 on various dates in 2019.

No specific details on the alleged frauds or how they were carried out were given in court.

Detective Garda Shane Fitzsimons gave evidence of charging the accused.

The accused did not make any reply when charged.

The court was told that Gardai had no objections to bail.

The accused man’s solicitor, Mr Patsy Gallagher, told the court that this was quite a complicated matter and said a book of evidence was not yet ready in the case.

It was indicated that the accused will face trial by indictment meaning the case will be heard at Letterkenny Circuit Court.

The court extended Enabulele’s bail for him to appear again before the court on April 19th.
