A permanent ambulance base has finally been secured for Buncrana.
Confirmation of the facility has been widely welcomed in the South Inishowen area.
Pádriag Mac Lochlainn TD confirmed that the base will be located at the site of the current Buncrana Medical Centre on McCarter’s Road.
Staff are due to re-locate to the new Primary Care Centre in Buncrana in the last quarter of 2021.
In the meantime, HSE Estates is searching for a temporary location in Buncrana to meet the needs of the National Ambulance Service.
