Gardai in Donegal have revealed that 13 people have been arrested in the past week alone locally for drink and drug driving.
A total of six arrests were made for drug-driving while a further seven people were arrested for drink driving.
Gardai have appealed to people not to get behind the wheel while under the influence.
Despite less traffic on the roads, Gardai say that the number of motorists driving while on drugs or drunk continues to remain high.
Garda Claire Rafferty appealed to people to think twice if they are tempted to drive while under the influence.
“The numbers of people driving while under the influence is still too high.
“We would appeal to people to think again if getting behind the wheel as they are risking their own life and the lives of others.
“Those arrested will come before the courts and also face the risk of losing their driving license,” she said.
