RAPHOE siblings Chloe and Sam Magee have won through tot the last 16 at the Yonex Swiss Open.

Yesterday evening, the Magees defeated England’s Callum Hemming and Victoria Williams.

The Magees took a 21-12 21-16 victory to move on in the competition.

Next on the agenda for the Magees is a meeting with Belhian pair Mark Lamsfuss and Isabel Herttrich.

“We had to figure out if we could still do it,” Sam Magee said.

“It was nice to get on court and play. The instincts were still there, thankfully.”

The Magees have been fortunate to be permitted to train as elite athletes in the high performance centre in Dublin of late.

Chloe Magee said: “We’re just taking it one game at a time. We just wanted to get the feeling back of being on the court. We want to go out and show our best levels.”
