There are increasing signs of hope in the fight against Covid-19 as numbers continue to fall across the country.
According to the latest figures from the Health Service Executive, numbers continue to drop.
In Donegal yesterday there were less than 5 new recorded cases.
HSE Chief Executive Paul Reid said this morning there are “reasons to be very hopeful”.
In a Twitter post, he said infections among the most vulnerable and healthcare workers are decreasing “hugely”.
The number of patients in intensive care with Covid-19 is also reducing, with 112 patients as of last night.
Daily case numbers in the community are also reducing, with 359 reported yesterday, their lowest level since mid-December.
A further 14 coronavirus-related deaths were also reported, bringing the total number of deaths due to the virus to 4,333, while the number of confirmed cases stands at 220,630.
