Van used to ram Garda patrol car in Donegal is forfeited to State

A VAN used to ram a Garda patrol car is among three vehicles in Donegal forfeited to the State.

The vehicle was involved in an incident in St Johnston  on March 30, 2020.

The silver Hyundai i-30 van collided with a stationary patrol car around 4.30pm and a high-speed pursuit ensued.

The vehicle was later located at a commercial premises by the PSNI.

The last registered owner of the vehicle was sent four letters by Gardai, but did not respond.

At Letterkenny District Court, Judge Paul Kelly ordered the forfeit of the vehicle to the State.

Another vehicle involved in a high-speed pursuit, on April 13, 2020, was also subject of a similar order.

A pursuit ensued from Raphoe, through a series of backroads, endeidng up at Doneyloop, where it was abandoned. The vehicle was seized by the PSNI and handed over to Gardaí.

Another vehicle found burned out at Altaghderry, Carrigans and entered the possession of Gardaí on September 29, 2019 was also forfeited to the State.
