Staff at Letterkenny University Hospital were given a real morale booster last night with the news that there were NO Covid patients in ICU.
The latest official figures show one person was being treated in ICU and that 11 further patients were being treated for Covid in the hospital.
However, a source at the hospital told Donegal Daily that as of midnight last night there were no Covid patients in intensive care.
The source said “God knows there has been a lot of heartache and tears on these corridors in recent months. The fight is far from over but it was a real morale booster last night to hear that.
“That could change very quickly but the reality is that the numbers are moving in the right direction. We have to celebrate our victories when we get them.”
The overall number of patients across the country in hospital with Covid fell to below 400 last night.
There were 392 patients in public hospitals with the virus with 101 of these in intensive care.
