The government is expected to consider easing restrictions on outdoor activities and sports this April, according to reports.
The current set of Level 5 restrictions remains in place until April 5th. After this date, there is growing pressure on the government to lift some restrictions.
Construction, outdoor activities, sports and the 5km limit are the priority areas being considered by the government, the Sunday Independent reports.
As more people exercise in parks in springtime, Taoiseach Micheál Martin said the government’s response needs to match the activities of the season.
Other reports suggest that Ministers are considering expanding the current 5km travel restriction only to 8km or 10km, due to continued concerns over Covid-19 case numbers.
