Donegal County Council has announced plans to grit the majority of main inland roads in Donegal tonight.

Temperatures are set to drop to -1C this Friday night as Donegal experiences spring snowfall and cold conditions.

There is a risk of hail, sleet and snow on higher ground. “Most areas will become dry and clear by morning,” said Met Eireann.

The north west will also experience moderate to fresh southwest to west winds, occasionally strong in coastal regions, which will gradually ease light to moderate overnight.

The following routes will be gritted from 7PM on Fri. 26/03:

  • 01: National Primary North
  • 02: National Primary Central
  • 04: Inishowen South
  • 05: Inishowen East
  • 06: Inishowen West
  • 07: Milford South
  • 08: Milford North
  • 09: Cill Ulta East
  • 12: Binswilly
  • 13: Stranorlar North
  • 14: Stranorlar East
  • 15: Stranorlar West
  • 18: Donegal South
  • LT: Letterkenny Town
  • BT: Buncrana Town Council

Assume that no road is ice free.
