Breaking: 45 new Covid-19 cases in Donegal, 13 deaths in Ireland

THERE have been another 45 cases of Covid-19 confirmed in Donegal this evening.

Nationally, 13 further deaths and 604 new cases were announced.

Of the deaths, 12 occurred in March and the people who died were aged 51-93.

In Donegal, the volume of cases remains worryingly high with 452 new cases recorded in the last 14 days.

The county’s 14-day incidence rate is now 283.9, well above the national average of 164.5 and only Offaly (443.8) has a higher figure.

Donegal’s number of new cases today is the second highest in the country, behind Dublin, where there were 224 cases.

Since the outbreak, there have been 4,666 Covid-19 related deaths and 234,541 cases.

As of 8am today, 322 Covid-19 patients are hospitalised, of which 66 are in ICU. 18 additional hospitalisations in the past 24 hours.

As of March 25th 2021, 760,168 doses of Covid-19 vaccine have been administered in Ireland: 548,945 people have received their first dose; 211,223 people have received their second dose.
