Covid-19: Thirteen new cases in Donegal, 14 deaths nationally

ANOTHER 13 cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed in Donegal this evening.

Nationally, 14 deaths and 368 cases were announced by health officials, with 12 of the deaths having occurred in March. Those who died were aged from 68-97.

In Donegal, today’s 13 cases mean there have been 444 infections over the past 14 days.

Donegal’s 14-day incidence rate is now 278.9, with the national average standing at 164.1. Only Offaly, at 474.6 has a greater incidence rate than Donegal.

Of the cases notified today: 181 are men and 182 are women; 67 per cent are under 45 years of age; the median age is 34 years old.

As of 8am today, 310 Covid-19 patients are hospitalised, of which 67 are in ICU. There have been 29 additional hospitalisations in the past 24 hours.

As of last Saturday (27 March), there have been 802,502 doses of Covid-19 vaccine administered in Ireland: 577,641 people have received their first dose; 224,861 people have received their second dose.
