A garage owner with 13 previous convictions has been banned from driving for two years after being caught without having insurance and a driving license.
Thomas McKemey, of Milford Road, Kilmacrennan, appeared at Letterkenny District Court.
He was stopped by Gardai at Ballaghderg on August 1st, 2018 but did not have insurance or a driving license.
His solicitor Michael Shiel said McKemey was repairing the car and had taken it out for a small test-drive to see it was working okay.
The court heard the accused man’s previous convictions were mainly for road traffic including a hit and run and drink driving.
Judge Paul Kelly fined McKemey €300 for not having insurance, a further €300 for not having a license and banned him from driving for two years.
