The Inishowen community has been left shocked by weekend vandalism at the iCARE children’s autism support centre.
A witness appeal has been launched after children’s toys were destroyed outside the much-loved Buncrana centre on Saturday night.
iCARE offers vital support for local children with autism, and this incident has left families reeling.
Management at iCARE took to Facebook this evening to express their anger:
“Unfortunately we had unwanted visitors to our centre on Saturday evening/night who caused some damage to our children’s toys outside.
“Thankfully they didn’t break in to any of the buildings and cause more damage.
“If only they knew how much our young people love this place and how much work has gone into making it such a great centre.
“Who gives them the right to break and destroy things? If only they knew how difficult it is for us to get funds to purchase equipment.”
Gardai are currently investigating the matter and if anyone can help provide information, please contact iCARE or Buncrana Garda Station on +353 74 9320540
