The remains of two whales and a dolphin which washed up on a Donegal beach have now been buried.
Two large Cuvier beaker whales and smaller dolphin were washed up on Tra Mor beach in Dunfanaghy more than a week ago.
Members of the public were urged to keep a safe distance from the remains, while concerns were raised over gases and odours.
However, it has now been confirmed that the animals have been buried by Donegal County Council.
The cause of death of the animals is not yet known.
The discovery was made on Tra Mor beach just a week after the area was named as one of Ireland’s top ten best beaches by the Lonely Planet tourism guide.
