Letterkenny Institute of Technology (LYIT) is a third level college located in Co. Donegal.

It has two modern campuses in Letterkenny and Killybegs, employs 350 staff and has over 4,500 students from all over Ireland and 30 different countries. In addition, LYIT’s CoLab, is home to 60 client companies, employing 180 staff. The college has an ambitious and progressive ethos, and has expanded its course curriculum to include over 100 programmes across 3 faculties, many up to Master’s Level. LYIT is currently pursuing Technological University status with its partners IT Sligo and GMIT.

Letterkenny Institute of Technology invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the post of:

Health and Safety Co-Ordinator

The key role of the Institute Safety Co-Ordinator is to develop, maintain and promote a positive Health and Safety culture throughout the Institute, across all its departments and campuses.

Duties to include the following:

  •  To develop, communicate and implement a Zero Accident vision for the prevention of accidents in the learning environment and workplace.
  • To assist, support and complement management in providing a safe place of work and learning.
  • To plan short-term, medium-term and long-term health and safety objectives and to develop and assist in the implementation of policies, procedures and codes of practice to achieve those objectives.
  • To develop key performance indicators for the objectives set.

 Salary:  €48,541 – €59,320 (Analogous to Grade VI)
