Donegal is to experience very wet and windy weather this Bank Holiday Monday.
Met Eireann has issued a status yellow weather warning for the incoming stormy conditions, which will hit Clare, Cork, Kerry, Limerick, Waterford, Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo, Sligo and Wexford.
People have been warned to take extra care in coastal areas and on higher ground.
Forecasters warn that there will be “unseasonably wet and windy” weather, with heavy rain in conjunction with wind that will lead to spot flooding with a risk of wave overtopping in coastal areas. Winds will reach mean speeds of 50 to 65 km/h with gusts up to 100 km/h.
The status yellow alert is valid from 3am Monday morning until 10pm Monday night.
