One Donegal GAA team has decided it is cancelling ALL activity for the coming days in a bid to halt the spread of Covid locally.
Fanad Gaels is based in the Milford electoral area which has amongst the highest 14-day incidence of the virus in the country.
The Letterkenny electoral area was just behind Milford with the second-highest incidence rate of the virus in the country.
The county has been warned it must bring down the high incidence rate of the virus or face possible further restrictions.
A spokesperson for the club said “CLG Ghaeil Fhanada have made the decision to halt all scheduled training for the next seven days as we attempt to play our part in suppressing the recent Covid-19 surge in the county.
“Go raibh maith agaibh as bhur dtuiscint.”
The club statement said it plans to return to scheduled training on May 10th.
“We look forward to welcoming all our playing members back from next Monday, May 10th,” added the statement.
