Letterkenny woman Kirsty O’Donnell was last night crowned Miss Donegal 2021.

Kirsty (19) is currently studying general nursing and was also joined on the virtual podium by Nicole Harron (25) who secured the title of Miss Donegal Town.

The final place went to Layla Doherty (19) who secured the title of Miss Donegal North. Layla from Inishowen is currently studying pharmaceutical and medicinal science in LYIT.

The online virtual final saw each entrant submit their introduction videos, catwalk selection videos and charity videos which were all reviewed by a panel of judges who then interviewed each contestant via zoom. Applications were whittled down to ten finalists from previous interviews.

“We are delighted to be able to run the selection for Dublin safely and look forward to the winners joining our current finalists as we work towards the Miss Ireland 2021 grand final later this Summer,” a spokesperson for the organisers said.

The winner of Miss Ireland will take part in the 70th Miss World festival which will take place in the stunning Caribbean Island of Puerto Rico in December.
