Funding boost secures two additional classrooms for Lurgybrack NS

FUNDING has been allocated for additional accommodation at St Patrick’s NS, Lurgybrack.

The funding boost was confirmed this evening under the Additional Accommodation Scheme 2021.

The news means that the Letterkenny school will get two new mainstream classrooms.

Minister Charlie McConalogue said: “This is great news for the school and an important investment in the school’s capacity.

“I thank Minister Norma Foley, thecCouncillors, the school board and the parents and students.”

The construction of the additional classrooms comes as a major boost for the 454-pupil school.

Councillor Donal Coyle, the Mayor of the Letterkenny-Milford Municipal District, welcomed the news.

Cllr Coyle said: “This will be a great benefit for Lurgybrack National School and for the entire area.

“Two new mainstream classrooms is major news for the school and I extend congratulations to everyone on what is a vey welcomed announcement.”
