Health officials have reported 49 new cases of Covid-19 in Donegal.
The have been a further 459 new cases of Covid-19 across the country today and no additional Covid-19 related deaths.
The Chief Medical Officer, Dr Tony Holohan issued an uplifting message today for those who are fully vaccinated:
“I would encourage people who have been vaccinated, to safely resume your lives, mindful of the guidelines. For those awaiting vaccination, the many choices we make to stick with the public health advice will keep ourselves and our loved ones safe.”
Donegal has the third highest number of new cases today, after 189 in Dublin and 52 in Cork. The 14 day incidence rate in Donegal is now 248.8, while Ireland’s average is 129.3 per 100,000.
There are 111 people with Covid-19 being treated in hospitals around the country, with 36 of these in intensive care units.
Letterkenny University Hospital is treating two Covid-19 patients, with no confirmed cases in ICU (as of 8pm last night).
