A major protest march by those affected by the MICA scandal is to take place on May 22nd.
The ‘peaceful protest’ is being organised by the families and friends whose homes have been destroyed by defective blocks.
The march takes place from 2pm in Buncrana and is set to attract hundreds of people onto the streets of the Inishowen town.
In recent days there have been protests against both Cassidy Brothers and Donegal County Council over the MICA issue.
A number of county councillors have called on Donegal County Council not to use materials supplied by a number of companies including Cassidy Brothers.
Cassidys have also issued a statement in which they have claimed both their workers and customers have been intimidated and harassed over the MICA issue.
The company has stressed that they were not the only supplier of blocks which have been deemed faulty.
The protest starts at 2pm but organisers are asking people to gather from 1pm at the children’s playground at the Shorefront in Buncrana.
All those planning to attend are asked to wear masks and follow all Covid regulations.
