Rescue volunteers have made an urgent plea after the theft of another life-saving ring buoy from the Buncrana area.
“This has to stop,” urged RNLI volunteers after another device was stolen from Swan Park this week.
Three ring buoys have now been taken from the Buncrana shore and Inch Island, in acts that potentially puts lives in danger in the event of an emergency.
The buoys have been replaced as a matter of urgency.
Members of the public are asked to please notify Gardaí or Water Safety Ireland if you ever notice that a ring buoy is missing from its stand or if you observe any incidents involving the misuse/theft of any type of safety equipment.
