Department of Health confirms 802 Covid-19 cases across two days

THE Department of Health has announced 802 cases of Covid-19 for the last two days.

Health officials confirmed 447 new cases were reported up to midnight on Friday and another 355 up to midnight on Saturday.

No county-by-county update has been given and these case numbers are subject to change due to the recent ransomware attack on the HSE’s systems.

There are 109 Covid-19 patients in the country’s hospitals with 42 receiving intensive care treatment.

Meanwhile, 109 Covid-19 cases were reported in Northern Ireland today.

No further Covid-19 related deaths were announced by the Depaetment of Health.

There have been 2,149 deaths in the North since the outbreak.

There have now been 1,548,336 vaccines administered in the region with 552,431 of those second doses.
