Met Eireann has issued a Status Yellow gale warning for the entire coast of Ireland today.
Winds are forecast to reach gale or strong gale force today on all Irish coastal waters and on the Irish Sea.
Donegal is expected to be lashed with heavy rain today, bringing a risk of localised flooding. There will be fresh to strong and gusty winds, and it will be cool for the time of year with highest temperatures of 11 to 14 degrees Celsius.
The marine forecast for Friday has a Small Craft warning for the coast again.
