THERE was action aplenty and goals galore as Donegal rescued a draw in an exciting Allianz League game in Ballybofey.

Donegal, who lost the injured Michael Murphy after just five minutes, came from nine points down after Conor McCarthy scored a first-half hat-trick for Monaghan.

Patrick McBrearty posted eight points for Donegal, for whom a goal by Michael Langan in the opening period came at just the right time.

A fourth Monaghan goal, scored by Conor McManus, looked to have Monaghan out of sight but Donegal, led by McBrearty, hit back.
