THE famous Seafood Shack in Killybegs has had to close due to a confirmed Covid-19 case.

A staff member who was a close contact has tested positive.

As a result, the popular Seafood Shack, located on the pier of the south Donegal fishing port, has had to close immediately.

“All of our staff are being tested and we are following all of the guidelines as set out by the HSE,” a notice confirmed.

The Seafood Shack, serving delicious freshly-cooked seafood, will reopen again on June 3.

A notice added: “Have to add, it’s amazing how efficient the testing and advice all is. We are so disappointed to be closing when it feels like we have only just opened but such is life during a pandemic.

“I just want to keep everyone safe and well and we wish our member of staff a full recovery from this awful virus.

“Genuinely cannot wait for all of the vaccines to be rolled out completely, stay safe everyone and I will keep ye all up to date on events as they unfold. Stay safe y’all and don’t miss us too much….!”
