Age is but a number as Naomh Brid announces new team

Naomh Brid Pettigo Ladies Club has set out to inspire all generations of female footballers with a new team.

The club is starting a Ladies team where age, ability and experience don’t matter one bit.

All that matters is that members get involved and enjoy themselves while improving their fitness and making friends.

The club’s new initiative is part of the ‘Level the Playing Field’ campaign by LGFA sponsors Lidl to encourage women in sport.

The club said: “By having a Ladies team within the club not only helps to support those members with physical fitness, the positive promotion of mental health and giving our nembers a sense of community and identity, it also helps to positively engage our younger members as they will see a way for them to keep playing our beautiful game, maintain and strengthen their bonds made with friends on the pitch, and possibly enable them to continue their aspirations of playing for their county at the highest level.”

If you’d like to join the team, the first step is to message the page: Naomh Brid Pettigo LGFA Club

Age is but a number, they say: “Regardless of ability and experience We WANT YOU to come on board with us on this exciting journey.

“You might be related to one of our girls or child playing with Naomh Brid and are thinking about how you could get involved yourself.

“If you’ve played before and stopped then maybe this is the right time for you to get back out on a pitch again.

“What matters is that you are getting out of the house to spend time on you with like minded Ladies just having a bit of craic whilst improving your fitness.”
