The government will announce a new schedule today for reopening hospitality, entertainment and the easing of travel restrictions.
From July 5th, indoor dining and drinking will resume in pubs and restaurants and international travel is expected to return from July 19th.
NPHET has also recommended the planned reopening of hotels on June 2nd and outdoor hospitality, gyms and cinemas from June 7th.
Wedding guest limits will be eased from July, with 50 guests allowed at receptions in July and 100 guest in August.
The Cabinet is also considering recommendations that up to 5,000 spectators can attend outdoor events in large stadiums like Croke Park from 2 August. Smaller outdoor venues would have a limit of 500 people.
The new timeline was developed last night by the government’s sub-committee on Covid-19, with the Cabinet expected to sign off on plans this morning.
