An incredible €80,000 has been raised in just two days for a young Donegal man who suffered a serious accident in Boston.
Individuals and businesses rushed online to support 20-year-old Gary Reynolds, who is originally from Killybegs.
Gary fell out of a pick-up truck last week, hitting his head and suffering a severe head trauma. He was rushed for emergency surgery and is currently in intensive care.
Gary’s family have received immense support and kindness after his relatives at home set up a GoFundMe page to support his future medical costs which will not be covered by insurance.

The total raised has gone above and beyond the initial target of €50,000, with €81,814 raised so far and the number climbing every hour.
Gary also received a kind-hearted message from Daniel O’Donnell this weekend, wishing him well.
“Gary is a big Country Music fan so he will be delighted when he sees this,” said Clare Gillespie, one of the organisers of the campaign.
All money raised will be used for Gary’s medical, rehabilitative and adaptive services. Unfortunately, Gary is also battling Pneumonia and has a blood clot on his lungs.
A spokesperson for the family said “Gary will need months of treatment in America and we are hoping for a full and speedy recovery.
“Thank you so much for your Masses, Prayers, Donations and Support. It is truly appreciated.”
