A man who supplied cannabis in the Finn Valley area has been fined after his case was heard at Letterkenny District Court today.

Gardai raided the home of Gerard Neeson at Glebe Hallows in Stranorlar on June 13th last year.

After searching the premises they found 36.4 grammes of cannabis worth €736, various drugs paraphernalia and €1,030 in cash.

Gardai also seized a mobile phone which they believed was being used for the sale and supply of drugs.

The court was told that Neeson, aged 30, has two previous convictions for drugs offences.

The accused man’s solicitor, Mr Patsy Gallagher said his client had been living with his uncle in Stranorlar but was now living back in Tallaght in Dublin.

He said he has issues with cannabis since he was a teenager but no other drugs.

Judge Alan Mitchell fined Neeson €400 for possession and sale of drugs and forfeited the cash seized to the State and gave a destruction order for the drugs.

And he warned Mr Gallagher “Tell him that the next time he is convicted under Section 15 that he will go to jail.”
