A further 313 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in Ireland, while 70 patients are being treated in hospital.
The figures were confirmed by the Department of Health this afternoon.
It comes as Ireland is braced for another huge day in our battle against Covid-19 tomorrow (Monday) as we see the biggest reopening of the year.
June 7 has long been earmarked as a vital day for the hospitality sector as pubs, bars and restaurants will finally be able to return for outdoor dining.
Gyms, swimming pools and leisure centres will also be allowed to open their doors once again – although it will be for individual training only.
