Investigations are being carried out after cracks were discovered on the outer wall of a children’s’ water slide at the Aura Leisure Centre in Letterkenny.
Management have confirmed they are aware of a number of cracks on the outer wall of the flume tower.
“The flume/slide tower structure is made of precast concrete and is structurally sound. In line with health and safety protocols the area will be secured while further investigations are carried out,” a spokesperson for the management company said.

A similar slide at the Aura Centre in Youghal.
The development comes just a day before the complex reopens to the public.
The fitness gym and swimming pool will reopen tomorrow (Monday) for members and pay-as-you-go customers, for individual training and swimming lessons.
However in line with Covid-19 Government protocols, the Health Suite and flume area/slide will remain closed.
