THE Department of Health has confirmed 259 new confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Ireland.
No county-by-county figures have been issued due to the recent ransomware attack on the HSE systems.
The HSE say there are 76 patients in Ireland’s hospitals receiving treatment for Covid-19 with 27 of those in intensive care.
The Department say that daily case numbers may change due to future data review, validation and update, owing to the attack.
Earlier today, no further Covid-19 related deaths and 105 new cases were reported in Northern Ireland.
In the last seven days, there have been 585 new infections in the region while the North’s death toll remains at 2,154.
