The good news is that the play area at Letterkenny’s Bernard McGlinchey Town Park is to get an upgrade.
However, the bad news is that it will not be until September when children are back in school.
The issue has been raised by Councillor Jimmy Kavanagh.
A council spokesperson said that following the tender process, the successful contractor has been identified.
“We are final stages of appointing the contractor to carry out the works and have requested the contractor to commence works as soon as possible.
“It should be noted that owing to delays in the delivery of play equipment due to COVID-19, it is envisaged that construction will not be complete until September 2021 at the earliest.”
