The number of patients with Covid-19 in intensive care has fallen to its lowest level in six months.

The Department of Health has this evening confirmed 398 new confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Ireland. There are 70 people being treated in hospital for the virus with 23 in intensive care, the lowest figure since 26th December 2020.

No county-by-county figures have been issued due to the recent ransomware attack on the HSE systems.

In Northern Ireland, there were 109 new cases and no further coronavirus-related deaths. Intensive Care Units in Northern Ireland have been free of Covid-19 patients for three successive days.
