MILFORD GAA club has launched a major Club Development Draw that will help fund a proposed new development initiative.

Launched by founding members Pat Curley, Fergus Friel, Seamus Durkan, Sean Mc Cormack and Aodh Mc Cormack along with the club’s number one supporter, Fergal McBride, the Club Development Draw aims to future proof Gaelic games in the area for generations to come.

The draw will run for ten weeks from early August with a total prize pot of €26,000.

The club brings together Rathmullan, Milford and Ramelton, and the voluntary committee members have devised a proposal that will see a new indoor hall, a much needed second pitch and an extra training pitch built adjacent to the current set-up at Moyle Park.

Speaking at the launch of the draw, club president Fergus Friel outlined the benefits of the new facilities for the community: “We’ve always strived to provide top-class facilities for our members and the wider community and this new proposed development is a fantastic opportunity to support our young members and generations to come with the best facilities to help future development and club success.

“The club was established in 1983 and in 2023, we’ll be celebrating 40 years so this fundraiser will be the start of the building blocks to help us reach our goals so we can look back on what we have achieved together across four decades.”

Club chairperson Aodh McCormack said: “We’re asking the local community to get behind our Club Development Draw and support us in our plans. Your backing will ensure future generations have access to the best facilities, giving them the best opportunities to be the best at their game. Tickets are available online and from any committee member, so be sure to sign-up and get your tickets early.”

Tickets for the Clg Baile na nGalloglách Club Development Draw cost €10 per week or a once off payment of €100. Each week there will be six cash prizes drawn for €1,000, €500, €300 and 3 x €200. In addition, anyone who is fully paid up before the first draw will automatically be entered into two extra draws for a chance to win €500 on week one and week six.

For more information about the draw contact Aodh McCormack +353 (0) 87 813 1565 and or visit the club’s social media channels, Facebook or Instagram. To purchase a ticket visit milfordgaadraw.ie.
