GERALDINE McLaughlin passed her latest milestone in Donegal’s win over Galway last weekend.

McLaughlin top scored with 2-7 in a superb 4-21 to 2-11 victory that sealed a place in a Lidl National Football League Division 1 semi-final.

McLaughlin, who will spearhead the Donegal attack in Saturday’s semi-final meeting with Cork, was on fire against Galway after returning to the starting XV.

Not only was McLaughlin’s second goal her 90th for Donegal, but the Termon woman’s tally took her past the 700-point mark in Donegal’s colours.

In total, McLaughlin has registered 90 goals and 433 points (703) since making her debut in February 2010 against Down in Ballybofey,

Her biggest tally in a game so far was 2-14 against Down in 2014.

This year’s League opener against Westmeath was her 100th at senior level for Donegal.

Michael Murphy has posted 33-561 in 162 games for Donegal.

Renowned Donegal GAA statistician Fr Seán Ó Gallchóir recently remarked of McLaughlin: “Her record is one of the most awesome in the annals of Donegal sport”

McLaughlin was on the Donegal Team of the Decade in 2019, yet remarkably has never been awarded a Ladies GAA All-Star.
