RNLI volunteers came to the aid of a person whose boat broke down on Lough Swilly this morning.
The alert was raised at 9.20am when the Irish Coast Guard received a report of a small boat that had developed engine trouble. There was one person onboard.
Lough Swilly RNLI was tasked to assist the person and the crew successfully towed the boat to Buncrana pier.
The Atlantic 85 lifeboat was then returned to Ned’s Point to refuel and make ready for service.
“Remember if you’re in difficulty or see someone in difficulty in or on the water call 999 or 112 and ask for the Coast Guard,” said a crew member of Lough Swilly RNLI.
