Watch: Maxi Curran says Donegal have defensive work to do

MAXI Curran says his Donegal ladies team have to tighten up in defence as they advance through the summer.

Donegal defeated Cavan 6-16 to 2-17 last night to reach the Ulster final.

Geraldine McLaughlin’s 2-9 helped Donegal to victory, but Curran is a little concerned at the scores his side shipped.

“We need to try and do something about that but we have a wee chance to recharge the batteries now,” he told Donegal Daily/Donegal Sport Hub.

“Another very slow start, hot on the heels of last week. We’ve got into the habit of making life very difficult for ourselves.

“It’s probably come off the back of a long run of games and we’ve traveled away for the last three. These games are there to be won and thankfully we’ve got the victory.

“We looked so porous at the back. They broke through at will. The most pleasing change in the second half was that we went toe-to-toe with them in the full-back line and we were being competitive. That set the tone for the rest of them. Cavan are a very good team and are a seasoned senior team.“
