Over 70% believe MICA victims should get 100% redress

More than 70% of people polled across the country believe people whose homes have been hit by MICA should get 100% redress from the Government.

The poll revealed that 71% of those interviewed believe the Government should provide the scheme which will cover 100% of the costs of the damage caused by defective blocks.

Donegal TD Padraig Mac Lochlainn has welcomed the results of the poll.

And he said the findings of the poll was purely down to the “courage and dignity” of families who told their stories and protested in Dublin recently.

He said “It’s really heartening to see that 71% of our people across Ireland agree that there should be a 100% funded scheme for the families in Donegal and Mayo devastated by crumbling homes.

“This is down to the sheer courage and dignity of those families who have told their stories over recent weeks and who brought their protest to Dublin.”
